Prevention of Sexual Harassment OF Women @ Workplace (POSH)
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, aims at protecting women from sexual harassment in workplaces, prevention and redressal of such issues and incidents related to it.
Sexual Harassment towards women is a distressing misdemeanor that violates the basic rights of an individual. The POSH Act 2013 has certain mandatory provisions for every employer to follow. If the Employer fails to
- Constitute an Internal Committee (IC) to handle complaints
- Take due action as per the Inquiry Report provided by the Internal Committee (IC) and
- Comply with the provisions of the Act
- Shall be punishable with a fine upto Rs. 50,000/-
- 2nd Offence – Twice the earlier punishment
- 3rd Offence – Trade Licence will be cancelled
