Actions speak louder than words any day and consistent actions over a period of time lead to an authentic, inclusive and safe workplace where every employee has a sense of belonging and acceptance. But, how do we create this sense of belonging, trust and acceptance? Through consistent conversations on sensitive topics, topics that are stigmatized and tabooed by many. Through cultivating strong allyship and community culture. At SStraight Circles, this is exactly what makes us unique, all our services are focussed towards taking action to meet the larger goal of fostering inclusive workplaces.
Here are some of the DEI campaigns and Employee engagement initiatives we have worked on, to build Allyship and foster safe spaces through effective Bystander Intervention
- Art events, Posters and Media – Designing posters and visual cues that adorn every employee’s seat, to spark conversations that matter.
- Open Mic – a platform where talent meets reality. Based on a sensitive theme eg. Bullying, employees are encouraged to perform via reciting poetry, storytelling, drama etc. This gives everyone an opportunity to express through real time stories, experiences and find relatable content that normalizes conversations around sensitive topics. This beautiful platform also empowers people to understand that everyone has a story to tell!
- Theatre Intervention – Imagine if you could find relatable incidents enacted in front of you and imagine if you were involved and empowered on how to speak up and be a voice of courage for yourself and for those underrepresented – imagine if we could build many voices of courage. Wouldn’t we build a strong and supportive community? This is exactly what the theatre intervention is all about.
- Film Screening and conversations with social impact heroes – Powerful films across various gender & sexuality themes are screened. The films focus on gender-based discrimination and violence against women, challenging misogyny, toxic masculinity & patriarchy, LGBTQIA issues, homophobia & transphobia, intersectionality, and gender binaries. Interactive panel events with eminent film personalities and social activists follow after the film screening. The films will sensitize the audience to acknowledge the glaring discrimination and stigma that exists in our society and communities. They will initiate thought and will help develop a fresh perspective on biases ingrained within us. The panel interactions will provide a safe platform to express and empower the audience to examine biases, prejudices and attitudes towards relationships, sexual consent, orientations, and identities.
and we don’t limit ourselves either – we love customizing and going by the pulse of the people to see what works best to foster a strong community culture. We love what we do and we love doing it for you!
