Can we afford to ignore the silent suffering of our children?
What's exactly happening...
In the heart of India, a distressing reality unfolds as bullying, discrimination, and harassment plague our educational institutions and communities, casting a shadow over the lives of our children and young adults. These pervasive issues in educational institutions and communities across Chennai cause severe and long-lasting damage to children and young adults, leading to depression, low self-esteem, loneliness, physical health problems, and in extreme cases, self-harm or suicide. Underreporting of such incidents exacerbates the problem, leaving many victims without the necessary support and intervention. Therefore, it is imperative to launch an impactful anti-bullying campaign in Chennai, one that not only raises awareness about the dire consequences of bullying but also fosters empathy and empowerment within our communities.
By addressing the root causes of bullying, promoting inclusivity, and providing resources for support and intervention, we can create a safer and more compassionate environment for our children and young adults to thrive. Engage with young individuals to actively involve them in the campaign, empowering them with the necessary tools and knowledge to confidently address challenges. Enable children and youth to advocate effectively for themselves and others, while encouraging inclusive behavior and gender sensitivity among them.

What is "The Kindness Campaign (TKC)"?
"The Kindness Campaign" aims to sensitize children and young individuals to the realities of bullying, discrimination, and harassment. This initiative is pivotal to SCF's efforts in tackling prevalent issues of bullying, discrimination, and harassment across schools, colleges, and diverse communities in Chennai
We're taking this impactful initiative citywide, reaching every school, college, and community in Chennai. From diverse socio-economic backgrounds, we're ensuring continuous conversations about preventing bullying, discrimination, and harassment all year long.
1. Step-by-Step Support: SCF will guide beneficiaries, including students, parents, and teaching staff, through a structured program. Starting with sensitization initiatives, to inspire kindness and inclusive actions through various engaging events like Art, Speech, Drama, and even Short filmmaking (exclusively for colleges).
2. Year-Round Engagement: With the help of Support Groups established within each institution, we'll continue the dialogue and plan initiatives throughout the year. This means sustained efforts to promote kindness and inclusivity in educational settings.
3. Impact: Each institution is expected to reach a minimum of 1000 beneficiaries through this intervention. That's a significant number of individuals positively impacted by our collective efforts.
The focus groups for this initiative encompass students in Chennai from 5th to 12th grade in schools, as well as undergraduates and postgraduate students across all college programs. Additionally, children and young adults from diverse communities facing socio-economic challenges will also be included in this campaign.
